- Volume of belongings, the single biggest factor. More furniture and boxes means a bigger truck and a larger crew.
- Packing, full professional packing with materials adds cost but saves you days and protects fragile items.
- Access, ground floor with parking is cheapest; high floors, long carries from the truck, or buildings without a service lift take longer.

Hidden charges to watch for
The cheapest quote is often the most expensive move. Before you book, ask whether the price includes each of these, and get the answer in writing:
- Packing materials (boxes, bubble wrap, tape) billed separately
- Fuel or "distance" surcharges added on the day
