Ajman moving · Fixed price including the journey · Nothing left out
Movers in Ajman
Ajman is where a lot of families move to make the numbers work, and the moving market here reflects that. You will be quoted figures that seem impossibly low, and some of them are, because the price covers the truck and two pairs of hands and very little else. What tends to be missing is packing materials, furniture dismantling and reassembly, transit insurance, and enough crew to finish inside a day. Star Edge prices the whole job in writing after a free survey, including the journey from Dubai or Sharjah, and then does not change it. This page explains exactly what should be in any quote you compare us against.

Short answer
Moving in Ajman, in brief
Ajman is the smallest emirate, bordering Sharjah and roughly forty minutes from Dubai depending on traffic. Housing runs from established blocks around the Corniche, Al Nuaimiya, Al Rashidiya and Al Rumailah to newer tower developments near Emirates City and Ajman Downtown, plus villa areas including Al Jurf and Al Zahra. Older buildings often have one shared passenger lift rather than a dedicated service lift. Electricity and water are supplied by FEWA rather than DEWA or SEWA. Apartment moves typically start from around AED 800 to 1,500 and villas from around AED 2,500, with the journey from Dubai or Sharjah included in the fixed written price.
We know this corridor
Three things that shape an Ajman move
You are passing through Sharjah, not just driving to Ajman. The distance from Dubai is modest, but the route runs through the busiest commuter corridor in the country. That means an Ajman move inherits the Sharjah bottleneck: congested westbound early, congested eastbound from late afternoon, and an unlucky departure turning a comfortable day into a long one. We schedule the drive for the window between the two peaks, which on this route is worth more than any other single decision.
The building matters more than the address. Ajman’s established blocks around Al Nuaimiya, Al Rashidiya and stretches of the Corniche were built before dedicated service lifts became standard, so one shared passenger lift frequently serves everyone. The newer towers near Emirates City and Ajman Downtown behave like modern developments with formal move approvals and proper access. Two apartments of identical size in the same emirate can therefore be genuinely different jobs, and a crew sized for the easier one will still be working after dark in the harder one.
Utilities work differently here. Ajman is supplied by FEWA, the Federal Electricity and Water Authority, which also covers Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. If you are arriving from Dubai or Sharjah, your DEWA or SEWA account does not transfer; you open a new FEWA account and close the old one separately. It takes a few days and it is the single most common reason a family spends a first night in Ajman without power. If you are moving on from Sharjah or out of Dubai, those pages cover the rules at the other end, and there is an Arabic version of this page if you prefer.

Services
Moving services in Ajman
Every service listed below is quoted as a complete job rather than a base figure with the useful parts sold separately.
Apartment moving
Studios to family flats across the Corniche, Al Nuaimiya, Al Rashidiya and the newer towers, with the lift situation planned for in advance.
Villa moving
Villas in Al Jurf, Al Zahra and Ajman’s residential areas, packed, transported and fully reassembled with gardens and store rooms included.
Office relocation
Offices and commercial premises including businesses in and around Ajman Free Zone, moved outside trading hours where possible.
Furniture moving and assembly
Dismantling and rebuilding included rather than charged separately, which is where the cheapest quotes usually differ from ours.
Packing services
Export-grade cartons and a labelled inventory, or pack yourself and pay less. Either way the materials are real rather than recycled boxes.
Storage solutions
Clean, secure, itemised storage between homes, with collection in one emirate and delivery in another by the same team.
What a complete quote should contain
Whoever you end up choosing, these are the items worth confirming in writing before you agree a price: the number of crew attending, whether packing materials are supplied or charged per box, whether furniture dismantling and reassembly is included, whether transit insurance applies and to what value, whether the journey between emirates is inside the price, and what happens if the job runs past the estimated hours. A mover confident in their figure will answer all six without hesitation. If any answer is vague, that is usually where the final bill grows.

At a glance
What is usually in a quote, and what usually is not
Not every low quote is a bad one, but these are the six lines where they most often differ.
| Item | Often excluded | With Star Edge |
|---|---|---|
| Packing materials | Charged per box on the day | Included when you choose packing |
| Dismantle and reassemble | Extra, or declined outright | Included, no extra charge |
| Transit insurance | Not offered, or unspecified | Included, details on request |
| Journey between emirates | Added as mileage after loading | Inside the written price |
| Crew size | Minimum, day overruns | Set by the building and volume |
| Overrun | Billed hourly beyond estimate | Our cost, not yours |
The process
How an Ajman move runs
1. Free survey
Fifteen minutes in person or by video call, covering the home, the lift, and where a truck can realistically stand at both ends.
2. Fixed price in writing
One figure covering crew, vehicle, materials, the journey, dismantling, reassembly and transit insurance. Nothing itemised out later.
3. Approvals and timing
Move approval arranged where the building requires it, and the drive scheduled around the Sharjah corridor peaks.
4. Move and same-day setup
Pack, wrap, load, drive, rebuild and place, then clear every carton and offcut of wrapping from the property.

Why customers choose us
What actually goes wrong on a budget move
None of this is an argument against saving money. It is an argument for knowing what you are buying.
The price that was a deposit. The most common pattern in this market is a low quoted figure that becomes a different number once the furniture is on the truck and the customer has no practical alternative. Charges appear for boxes, for the wardrobe that needed dismantling, for the distance between emirates, for hours beyond the estimate. Our written figure is the whole figure, and if the day runs long because a lift was slow or a carry was longer than expected, that is our cost.
The two men and a truck. A crew sized to the minimum will move a home eventually, but in a building with one shared lift it will take until nightfall, and tired crews at eight in the evening are when furniture gets damaged and beds get half-assembled. We size the crew to the building rather than to the invoice, which occasionally means we are not the cheapest quote you receive.
The insurance that did not exist. Transit cover is the item customers assume is standard and most often is not. Ask any mover directly, get the answer in writing, and be wary of a company that cannot produce a licence number. You can read what customers say on our reviews page.
Practical tips
Moving tips for Ajman
- Open your FEWA account before the move and close DEWA or SEWA separately, they do not transfer between emirates
- Aim to travel between roughly 9:30 and 14:00, the window between the Sharjah corridor peaks
- Tell us at survey whether your building has a dedicated service lift, it changes the crew we send
- Ask every mover the six quote questions in writing before you agree a price
- In the denser blocks, check with the building watchman where a truck can legitimately stand
- Consider packing your own clothes and books and letting us handle the kitchen and fragile items
- Avoid month-end where possible, demand peaks across Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman simultaneously
- Keep passports, tenancy documents, jewellery and medication with you rather than on the truck
Pricing
What decides the price of an Ajman move
Volume sets the baseline, deciding crew, vehicle and hours. The building is the biggest local variable, because a block with one shared lift needs a larger crew than an identical home in a modern tower. Packing is the lever you control most directly, and it is entirely reasonable to pack your own wardrobes and let us handle the kitchen. The journey from Dubai or Sharjah is included rather than charged, so it changes the schedule rather than the figure.
As a guide before survey: studio and one-bedroom apartments generally start from around AED 800 to 1,500, larger apartments rise with packing volume, and villas typically start from around AED 2,500. Ajman usually prices at the friendlier end of the UAE, and we would rather explain honestly why a complete quote sits where it does than win the job with a figure that changes on the day. For a starting range, use our moving cost calculator, then confirm with a free survey.

Questions
Movers in Ajman, FAQ
How much do movers in Ajman cost?
Studio and one-bedroom apartment moves in Ajman typically start from around AED 800 to 1,500, and villas from around AED 2,500. Ajman is generally the most affordable emirate to move within, but the figure still depends on volume, packing and the building rather than the postcode.
Why are some Ajman moving quotes so much cheaper?
Usually because something has been left out. The common omissions are packing materials, furniture dismantling and reassembly, transit insurance, and a crew large enough to finish in a day. A very low number is often a starting figure that grows once the truck is loaded. Ask for everything in writing before you agree.
Do you charge extra for the drive between Dubai and Ajman?
No. The full journey is inside the fixed written price, in either direction, with no mileage or fuel added afterwards. Dubai to Ajman and Sharjah to Ajman are among our most frequent routes.
How long does a Dubai to Ajman move take?
Usually a single day. The distance is modest, but the route passes through the Sharjah corridor, so the timing of the drive matters more than the mileage. We plan the departure to miss the commuter peaks in both directions.
What is the best time to travel between Dubai and Ajman?
Mid-morning to early afternoon. The Dubai-bound flow congests the corridor early and the return flow builds from late afternoon, and an Ajman move passes through both bottlenecks. Loading between them is the difference between arriving at two o'clock and arriving at six.
Do older Ajman buildings have service lifts?
Many of the established blocks around Al Nuaimiya, Al Rashidiya and parts of the Corniche have a single shared passenger lift rather than a dedicated service lift. We confirm this at survey and size the crew accordingly, so a harder building costs us hands rather than costing you a longer day.
Do I need a permit or NOC to move in Ajman?
It varies more than in Dubai. Newer towers and managed buildings generally require move approval from management, often with a deposit. Older buildings frequently need only the watchman or building manager notified. We establish which applies to your address before the date.
What about FEWA?
Electricity and water in Ajman are supplied by FEWA, the Federal Electricity and Water Authority, rather than DEWA in Dubai or SEWA in Sharjah. Arrange your FEWA connection at the new address and close the previous account separately, as these are not transferable between emirates.
Which areas of Ajman do you cover?
All of them, including the Corniche, Al Nuaimiya, Al Rashidiya, Al Rumailah, Al Jurf, Al Bustan, Mushairef, Al Hamidiya, Al Zahra and the tower developments around Emirates City and Ajman Downtown.
Is parking a problem for the moving truck?
In the denser residential blocks it can be, with street parking contested and the practical loading position some distance from the entrance. We identify where the truck can legitimately stand during the survey and include the carry in the fixed price rather than adding it later.
Is packing included in the price?
It can be. Full packing with export-grade cartons, bubble wrap, wardrobe boxes and a labelled inventory is included when you choose it, or you can pack yourself and pay less. Many Ajman customers pack their own clothes and books and have us handle the kitchen and fragile items, which is a sensible compromise.
Do you dismantle and reassemble furniture?
Yes, at no extra charge, and this is one of the items cheaper quotes most often exclude. Beds, wardrobes, dining sets and desks come apart, travel wrapped and are rebuilt at the new address, with screens, curtains and shelving remounted before we finish.
Is my furniture insured during the move?
Yes. We are a licensed UAE moving company and transit cover applies to every job, including the drive between emirates. Ask any mover you are considering for their licence and insurance details, and be cautious of those reluctant to provide them.
Do you provide storage between homes?
Yes. Handover gaps are common, particularly for families moving from Dubai or Sharjah into Ajman to reduce rent. Our storage is clean, secure and itemised, and we collect in one emirate and deliver in the other.
Do you handle office and commercial moves in Ajman?
Yes, across the emirate including businesses in and around Ajman Free Zone. Offices and retail units are moved outside trading hours where possible, with IT equipment inventoried and transported separately from general furniture.
How far in advance should I book an Ajman move?
Five days is generally comfortable. Older buildings without a dedicated service lift benefit from a little more notice so the right crew size can be scheduled, and month-end is busy across all three neighbouring emirates at once.
Do you move from Ajman to Dubai as well?
Frequently, in both directions. Families move to Ajman for space and lower rent, and back toward Dubai when commuting time outweighs the saving. Both journeys are planned the same way, around the traffic rather than the distance.
How do I get an exact price for my Ajman move?
Send both addresses on WhatsApp and we will arrange a free survey, in person or by video call, taking about fifteen minutes. You then receive one written figure covering crew, vehicle, materials, the journey, dismantling, reassembly and transit insurance, fixed before the date.
