Floor level and lift access, disassembly needs, packing, storage between homes, and distance between Emirates. The survey captures all of it upfront.

What a Dubai moving cost estimate is really based on
Four variables drive almost every moving quote in Dubai, and knowing them helps you sanity-check any price you are given, ours included.
Volume, not distance
Within Dubai, distance barely moves the number. What matters is how much you own. A three-bedroom apartment packed to the ceiling can cost more to move than a lightly furnished villa, which is why honest movers survey before quoting.
Packing and materials
Full packing with export-grade boxes, wrapping and a labelled inventory typically adds a meaningful share of the total. Packing yourself lowers the price, and you can split the difference by having us pack only the kitchen and fragiles.
Access at both ends
Tower moves need a service lift booking and often a building NOC, villas need gate access and sometimes a permit. Access is one of the things your free survey accounts for before your price is agreed, once it's fixed in writing it doesn't change if access turns out trickier than expected on moving day, which is the main reason some movers add charges after loading.
Timing and season
Month-end weekends are peak across Dubai as tenancy contracts turn over, and lift calendars fill fast. Mid-month, mid-week moves are easier to book at your preferred hour.
Estimate ranges by home size in Dubai
These are planning estimates. Full packing increases the calculator estimate by 20%, rounded to the nearest AED 50. Townhouses, partial moves and special items are assessed after survey. Your written quote confirms the inventory, addresses and selected services.
For local moves with self-packing, our calculator estimates AED 800–1,500 for a studio, AED 1,200–2,200 for a one-bedroom apartment and AED 3,500–6,000 for a three-bedroom villa. Office and commercial moves are quoted separately after we see the equipment and access. Your survey confirms the selected packing, inventory, addresses and services before the fixed written price is agreed. How accurate is a moving cost calculator in Dubai?
A calculator gives you a realistic range based on home size, distance and packing, which is usually enough to budget with. It cannot see your specific access, lift restrictions or how much you actually own, so the final figure comes from a free survey and is then fixed in writing.
How much does it cost to move a 1-bedroom apartment in Dubai?
The calculator estimates AED 1,200 to 2,200 for a one-bedroom move within Dubai with self-packing, or AED 1,450 to 2,650 with full packing. Inventory, access and special items are reviewed during the survey before your written quote.
How much does a villa move cost in Dubai?
For a local three-bedroom villa move with self-packing, our calculator estimates AED 3,500–6,000. A four-bedroom or larger villa uses AED 5,000–9,000 with self-packing; full packing adds 20% before rounding to the nearest AED 50. Volume matters more than distance, which is why villas are always priced after a survey rather than from a phone call.
Do movers charge extra for stairs, lifts or long carries?
We do not. Some Dubai movers add fees for stairs, waiting at service lifts or long carries from the loading bay. Your Star Edge price is fixed in writing after the survey and includes all of it, so moving-day access problems are our cost, not yours.
Is packing included in the moving cost?
It can be. Full packing with boxes, bubble wrap and a labelled inventory is included when you choose it, or you can pack yourself and pay less. You decide during the free survey and the price reflects your choice.
