What a Dubai moving cost estimate is really based on
Four variables drive almost every moving quote in Dubai, and knowing them helps you sanity-check any price you are given, ours included.
Volume, not distance
Within Dubai, distance barely moves the number. What matters is how much you own. A three-bedroom apartment packed to the ceiling can cost more to move than a lightly furnished villa, which is why honest movers survey before quoting.
Packing and materials
Full packing with export-grade boxes, wrapping and a labelled inventory typically adds a meaningful share of the total. Packing yourself lowers the price, and you can split the difference by having us pack only the kitchen and fragiles.
Access at both ends
Tower moves need a service lift booking and often a building NOC, villas need gate access and sometimes a permit. Access does not change your Star Edge price, but it is the main reason some movers add charges after loading.
Timing and season
Month-end weekends are peak across Dubai as tenancy contracts turn over, and lift calendars fill fast. Mid-month, mid-week moves are easier to book at your preferred hour.
Estimate ranges by home size in Dubai
As a rough guide before your survey: studios and one-bedroom apartments generally start from around AED 800 to 1,500; two and three-bedroom apartments sit above that depending on packing; and villas typically start from around AED 2,500 and rise with bedrooms, garden and garage contents. Office and commercial moves are quoted separately after we see the equipment and access. Every one of these becomes a single fixed written figure once we have surveyed, and that figure does not change on moving day.

A calculator gives you a realistic range based on home size, distance and packing, which is usually enough to budget with. It cannot see your specific access, lift restrictions or how much you actually own, so the final figure comes from a free survey and is then fixed in writing.
How much does it cost to move a 1-bedroom apartment in Dubai?
Most 1-bedroom moves within Dubai fall between roughly AED 800 and 1,500 depending on distance, floor, lift access and whether you want full packing. Studios sit at the lower end, and larger apartments rise from there.
How much does a villa move cost in Dubai?
Villa moves typically start from around AED 2,500 and rise with bedroom count, garden and garage volume, and packing. Volume matters more than distance, which is why villas are always priced after a survey rather than from a phone call.
Do movers charge extra for stairs, lifts or long carries?
We do not. Some Dubai movers add fees for stairs, waiting at service lifts or long carries from the loading bay. Your Star Edge price is fixed in writing after the survey and includes all of it, so moving-day access problems are our cost, not yours.
Is packing included in the moving cost?
It can be. Full packing with boxes, bubble wrap and a labelled inventory is included when you choose it, or you can pack yourself and pay less. You decide during the free survey and the price reflects your choice.
