Cost to move a 1-bedroom apartment in Dubai

1-bed apartment moves are Dubai’s most common move type, and pricing them is more predictable than villas, fewer rooms, usually one building to another, less variance in inventory. Here is a general range and what moves it up or down.
Note: the ranges below are general estimates for planning purposes, not a quote. Your actual price depends on your building, floor, and inventory, request a free survey for a fixed price in writing.
In this guide
Typical 1-bed apartment moving cost range
| Scope | Typical range (AED) |
|---|---|
| Move only (pre-packed boxes) | 800 to 1,500 |
| Move + full packing service | 1,400 to 2,500 |
| Move + packing + short-term storage | 1,800 to 3,200+ |
What moves the price within that range
- Floor and elevator access. A high floor with a slow or shared service elevator takes longer than ground-floor or dedicated freight elevator access.
- Building booking requirements. Towers that require a booked loading dock or elevator slot, common in Downtown, Business Bay, and Marina, rarely change price but do change scheduling.
- Packing scope. Full packing with materials included costs more than moving boxes you’ve already packed yourself.
- Furniture assembly. Flat-pack wardrobes or beds that need disassembly and reassembly add labour time.
- Distance. Moving within the same area costs less than a cross-city or cross-emirate move.
Why a fixed price beats an hourly estimate
Apartment moves are often quoted hourly elsewhere, which sounds simple until a slow elevator or unexpected extra boxes push you well past the estimate. Star Edge does a free survey first and gives you a fixed price in writing based on what’s actually in your apartment, the number you’re quoted is the number you pay.
